A few weeks ago, I was at a Regal movie theater watching the movie The Invisible, rated PG-13 for violence, criminality, sensuality and language.
Someone in the front had a few kids who were about 7 or 8 years old running around the theater, laughing and enjoying their stay. After all, a movie is a lot better than a babysitter in a kid’s point of view. To the parents, $15 of tickets is a lot cheaper than a babysitter. I can see the rationale.
After everyone in the theater yelling at them to shut up their kids, someone finally got up and told a manager who watched over them like a hawk until the movie was over. I would have rather had a manager just come in on his own to check up on the theater instead of someone having to get him. Anyway–
In comes Regal’s new idea–the high tech tattle tale device. With this device, you can secretly call the manager with the push of a button.
Regal cinemas say you can now silence those interruptions with the Regal Guest Response System — a virtual remote control to mute that annoying patron who’s ruining your silver screen sanity.
Apparently someone was stealing this guy’s wireless Internet connection, and he made it so that they saw every image upside-down (more pics are on the site).
I’m introducing Lskatzdotcom usernames, and I’m starting with the Caption Game. They’re entirely voluntary, and you can play the game without them, but I think they’ll add some nice extra features.
For instance, you will be able to edit or delete your past captions. Also, you will be able to see general information about each user, including first names and which captions have been submitted by that particular user. Finally, as a user, your name gets a cool maroon color. The maroon indicates it is really you and not some impersonator. Sweet.
Registration is entirely by request at this point, and I’d like to hear some feedback if this interests you.
P.S. if you haven’t been to the caption game, make your mark!
I stopped by the stupid center (A.K.A. the student center), and I was sweating from it being so hot outside. On a whim, I almost stepped into the hair cut place so that I could cool down a little. It’s so hard for me to know when to cut my hair, but I think that everyone thinks it looks good this way.
After leaving the student center and while semi-regretting not getting a hair cut, I saw a miraculous scene. It was a squirrel running away from a low-flying bird towards a tree. The bird kept on poking the squirrel in the butt with its beak, and the squirrel’s butt kept on reacting by twitching upwards. Finally, after several posterior pokes, the squirrel made it to the safety of the tree, and the bird’s attacks were thwarted. I wish I took a movie or even a picture of it.
By the time I finished laughing, I forgot all about my hot hair.
It’s really, really rare to have a systemic reaction to allergy shots, but lucky me. I had one.
My nose was running, and I was sneezing for a while after my shot today. The nurse caught me about 10 or 15 minutes into it, and called me out. Apparently systemic reactions get worse and worse, and so it is better to nip it in the bud. I had to go into a room and get more shots, which included epinephrine and probably Benedryll.
I had a huge high and then almost dropped dead from whatever depressant they gave me. This involved Jeff driving me home and me taking a nap. I still feel drowsey.
When I was little and got food in a restaurant, I’d always get a comment from someone. “That’s a lot of carbohydrates,” they’d say. My reply eventually evolved to, “That’s my favorite food,” and I would not change my choice of food. Of course, I had no idea what a carbohydrate was, except it seemed like it was in all of the food I ate. Thus, it was my favorite food.
A few days ago, I made one of my favorite dishes that Rebecca introduced me to. We don’t have a name for it because she found it on the back of a cracker box. However, I like to call it something like Noodle-Corn-Cheese-Crackers. You basically mix up the first three ingredients (after cooking the noodles), and then you put some crackers on top. Bake at 350 to melt everything together.
I realize that now, even with my vast knowledge of carbohydrates, it is still my favorite food.
