Interesting Search Engine

I think you guys should try out ChaCha.com for searching.  You can click a button “search with guide” and someone actually searches for you!  I think this is a really interesting feature I might try out next time when I get frustrated.

Holy Awesome, Batman!

My brother’s friend’s friend wrote sheet music for The Legend of Zelda music, and played his cello in this quartet. So freakin awesome. I wish I did this too.

Spiderman

How fitting that Spiderman 3 will feature Venom, and I found the cartoon that had Venom in it.  Enjoy.

Pan’s Labyrinth

For some reason, I think I like surrealistic movies that a child or children star in.  In Pan’s Labyrinth, a kid is the main character, and her mom marries an evil man in the Spanish army (and he confirms that he is evil when he kills a rabbit hunter with thin end of his wine bottle).  What I really liked about the movie was that the kid kept on talking to people and things that never talked back.  She was a talker, and a spanish talker at that.  Every other monologue with her started with “hola.”  I quite enjoyed that.

I’m bioinformatically awesome

A lab up in MD and a lab at Emory want to try out the fish database I made last semester.  Best case scenario: I get to be second author on whatever paper uses it and consequently I get to be cited multiple times.  Not bad for a first-semester project.

Wii shopping

I woke up early with Maryanne this morning to buy her a Wii. We drove all the way out to Perimeter Mall to the Circuit City to get it too. There was a line, but we were there right in time to get a piece of paper that gave us dibs on the 15th Wii.

Long story short… I kicked her butt in tennis but she was really good at bowling and baseball.
Also, my new nickname is Lii. Or Lii Lii.

Wii

“Lii would like to play”

Prime Hair Hours

My hair gets so oily. Assuming that I shower in the morning and not at night, I think my prime hair hours are between about 12pm and 9pm. This is when it’s not totally messed up and light brown, and it’s not jet-black and standing up.

Curse of the Golden Flower

Really depressing. Apparently in really good Chinese movies, everyone dies. In this masterpiece, the movie is able to keep two of its main characters alive. Hurrah!
Some of my random thoughts on the movie:

  • The palace is ridiculously beautiful.
  • Communication would have averted the tragedy. Why couldn’t they have talked it out???
  • The martial art with hooks looks really cool and twirly.

By the way, I just found out that if you search a movie in Google, it gives you the trailers, review, and showtimes.
