Forward

Joke again:
Sometimes you get funny stuff from your friends. I’ve got a buddy, owns a German shepherd. The people next door to him own one of those goofy white rabbits they keep in a cage. He came home one Saturday, and his dog is running around the yard WITH THIS RABBIT in his mouth. The rabbit has mud on it, it’s got dog spit on it, IT IS DEAD. Instead of being a man and telling the people what happened, he panicked. He took the rabbit away from the dog, took it in the house, washed it off with soap and water, and dried it with a hair dryer. (No pun intended, there.) He waited until it got dark, snuck the rabbit back over next door, put it in the cage like it had a heart attack, and locked the door. A few days later he was out in his yard, and he saw the lady from next door. She came over to the fence and said, “I guess you heard what happened.”

He said, “Naw, what?”

She said, “We have had a death in our family.”

He said, “Who died?”

She said, “Fluffy. And the weird thing was, after we buried him, somebody digged him back up and put him back in his cage.”

Pearl’s Hotties

Pearl is always talking about her top five hot women list, and well, I wanted to create it for her. I want you to test it out for me before I put a link for it explicitly onto the main page. Right now she has the names, but no description yet.
Enjoy.

joke

Another one from Ernie’s house of whoop ass:
There’s going to be an extra scene included in the DVD release
of EMPIRE STRIKES BACK coming up next year! Basically, it
expands on the scene where Vader reveals his fatherhood to
Luke, and ties up some loose ends created with the release of
Episode 1 & 2…

My Bellybutton is on Fire

I didn’t get the job at the CDC as I thought I would. I wouldn’t be this upset if 1) they didn’t strongly make me think I would get the job, 2) the PI didn’t give me a five minute talk on how I’m wasting a master’s degree by going into medicine, and 3) if I had something else to do this summer. Now I have a chance of being bored this summer with nothing to do.

I had come back from a fun day at Lake Lanier to read this news by my email. These people at the CDC never pick up the phone and probably insist on email all the time. Although, I think I’m a rarity in the computer science field by preferring the telephone and by preferring to be outside a lot, which brings me back to my bellybutton. I forgot to put suntan lotion just around my navel and now it’s sunburned. This is sad.

idiots

How can Bush talk about stem cell research if he’s not even a scientist? It’s stupid how he puts himself out there beyond his own expertise (if he had any in the first place).
As the BBC reports, Bush will oppose anything with stem cell research. Why? Well apparently it’s because with stem cell research, those children that he is standing by wouldn’t be alive today. Well woop-ti-do. If it weren’t those children who were alive, then it would be some other children. What Bush is leading to is the argument that every single egg and sperm should be saved to make more babies. However, in reality, not every egg and sperm are saved and therefore some should be used as stem cells.

So I mean, come on. If a woman donates an egg, let someone have it. No one has complained about donating sperm yet, I see.

Trivia night at the hospital

*idea*
I want to combine two great things in this world:

  1. Hospital Food: It’s cheap, and it tastes great. If you have a condition like diabetes, the staff can help you out too! The cafeterias I have been at usually have soul food, which is probably some of the best kind of food in the south. Also, there are great sandwiches or deli food usually.
  2. Trivia Night: It’s fun, I don’t know the answers, but it’s fun going with someone who does.

Now I ask you honestly, why not have trivia night at the hospital? I foresee two different kinds of trivia night, namely one for anybody, which is the usual, and another one being really nerdy and grody for doctors and staff. I don’t think I need to explain the usual. If you don’t know what trivia night is, go to teamtrivia.com. On the other hand, there is the awesome trivia night for doctors and staff. Can you imagine eating awesome hospital food and getting tons of science questions? It’s a dream! As for me, I usually only know the science questions in the first place.

Team Trivia, I beg of you: Go to the hospitals, cheer up the patients, and get some good trivia going.

The gym

The rec pool at GA Tech is like, a recreation park. I’m really enjoying it.
The pool, the hot tub, the water slide, and the outside area I use to try to tan. Love it.

Plus, it is a really great gym with about 50 machines, a track, basketball courts, badminton courts, racquetball courts…

It’s a mystery to us all…

I had this friend at Oxford, and we talked a lot.

…until one mysterious day, she stopped talking to me. Did I do something wrong? I will continue to say hi to you online, just because :)

all nighter

I have never done an all nighter. That being said, me ‘n’ some friends decided whimsically that we should stay up all night. I totally didn’t think I could do it, but I did! It was terrific: I watched two good movies, played tennis 4 times in the last 24 hours, and ate home cooked food.

At home, I tried to sleep until I woke up… which was about every 10 minutes. Why is everyone calling the house? Wait a few hours for me okay? This is the worst place in the world to catch up on sleep.

I just checked my grades–I got 5 A’s. This is a feat that I have not accomplished for some time, so I am happy about that. Looks like I slacked off just enough.

Weeklyshift

My mom talked someone she knew yesterday, an owner of a bar. He said that most of his employees don’t own a computer and so online scheduling is just not good for him to use yet.

However, in the case that a search engine will pick up this blog entry and some person will find this description of weeklyshift and will love it–
It is an online tool that you can use to put up your employees’ work hours. It calculates weekly hours for each employee and has an option to see how many people are working for you, for each hour of the day.
Also, it will have a way to print out your weekly schedule just the way you want it so that you can have a hard copy for your store too.
In case your employees do have computers, they can register with the site and your store and will be able to see their hours instantly. It has an option to add personal events to your schedule and checks for conflicts.
This should be good for businesses that have part-time employees, and also for businesses that have hours that change from time to time.

Okay, thanks Google. Thanks Yahoo. Thanks Jeeves. Thanks for picking up this blog entry and displaying it for people searching for terms that were just displayed in this blog entry.
