Emory Interview Followup

The Emory interview went great! This was their last interview date, which leads me to think that’s probably my first and last interview this year. However, I left a good impression on everyone.
I made the dean of admissions laugh once, I got my group interviewers to laugh a few times, and the medical school students liked me too. I ran into Ellie Patterson too–cool!
One of my group interviewers was a geneticist and so it was good that he understood bioinformatics. The individual interviewer knew the Pattersons. The father was my first cello teacher, and the interviewer was learning cello from scratch, starting three years ago.
All of my answers were good and complete ones, and I don’t feel that I left anything out. I pronounced words and articulated.

And I hung up my suit.

2 Cows

You’ve probably seen this before, but I’m posting it anyway because it’s cool.
Jeff thinks the Japanese one is the best, and I tend to agree with him

DEMOCRATIC

You have two cows.
Your neighbor has none.
You feel guilty for being successful.
Barbara Streisand sings for you.

REPUBLICAN

You have two cows.
Your neighbor has none.
So?

Great news!

Can you guess my great news?

It’s not that I had a haircut today (finally).
It’s not that I had my first ham and cheese sandwich and secretely thought it was good.

I got an interview at Emory School of Medicine today. The bad news is that it is on Monday… I have four days to prepare myself. They are totally not going to accept me, but I can try, right?

Three Vampires

Three vampires went into a bar and sat down. The barmaid came over to take their
orders. “And what would you, er, gentlemen like tonight?”
The first vampire said, “I’ll have a mug of blood.”
The second vampire said, “I’ll have a mug of blood.”
The third vampire shook his head at his companions and said, “I will have a glass of
plasma.”
The barmaid wrote down each order, went to the bar and called to the bartender, “Two
bloods and a blood light.”

V-Day

No one sent me a Valentine’s Day card. I don’t know if this is sad or if everyone just feels that familiar with me (which would be a good thing).

I made a reusable Valentine’s Day card while in the process of making one to send out. Go nuts with it.

At the stop light today

Someone has finally done what I have been thinking about doing for years.
This lady was stuck at a red light in the left-turn lane. After waiting for a while, she finally got out of her car and walked purposefully down to the crosswalk button. About a second after she pressed the button – about the time it took her to turn around from the button – the left turn light turned green. As she walked purposefully back to her car at the same pace, another car swooped around her to make the light.
Soon, she was in her car and just barely made the light herself.
